The 1915 LMA series next-generation directly modulated analog laser module manufactured by 3S Photonics delivers 32-Gb/s transmission over 20 km of single-mode fiber. The 1550-nm high-bandwidth device offers a 17-GHz bandwidth and 10-dBm output power. An adaptively modulated optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing signal containing 255 subcarriers spread over 12 GHz enables transmission without chromatic dispersion compensation, and a 35-GHz bandwidth PIN-based receiver module allows for direct detection. The device is suitable for radio fiber systems and fiber-to-antenna applications.
