Cynosure Inc. has launched the Cynergy III, a modular workstation that combines two wavelengths for a variety of vascular treatments. The 595-nm pulse dye laser treats small red vessels, scars, rosacea, vascular lesions and sun-damaged skin, while the 1064-nm Nd:YAG treats larger facial and leg veins. Featuring MultiPlex technology, the system allows the sequential emission of different laser wavelengths through the same handpiece, and the company says that custom time delay improves treatment outcomes as compared with single-wavelength treatments. Also offered is the addition of a pulsed light module, the Cynergy PL, which comes with selectable handpieces. The add-on pulsed light system operates independent of the laser system and can expand treatment options.
