The AvaSpec-3648 fiber optic spectrometer from Avantes Inc. is suitable for measurements in high-speed and high-resolution applications, such as laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy and pulsed-light sources. It features a 3648-pixel CCD detector array, a 14-bit A/D converter, and a USB 2.0 and an RS-232 interface. Gratings with various dispersion and blaze angles enable measurements from 200 to 1100 nm, with resolutions of between 0.025 and 20 nm, depending on the configuration. Options include UV-enhanced detector coatings and lenses. The device can sample 270 spectra per second and transfers data in 3.7 ms.
