Yellow DPSS laser

A yellow diode-pumped solid-state laser from CrystaLaser Inc. produces 60 mW of single-frequency output at 561 nm. The compact device provides a diffraction-limited TEM00 beam and <0.5% rms of noise. Output powers from 5 to 50 mW also are available. The laser has a lifetime of more than 10,000 h, and it consumes 12 W of power. An alternative to krypton-argon lasers, the company’s GCL series green-yellow lasers are suitable for excitation of rhodamine, Rox and Alexa Fluor dyes, which are used in fluorescence-based bioanalytical instrumentation.
