Omicron Laserage Laserprodukte GmbH has created a new laser series for applications in biotechnology. The Sole laser light engines combine up to six emission wavelengths and couple them into polarization-maintaining single-mode fibers. They are available in two versions, with either up to three (Sole-3) or up to six (Sole-6) wavelengths in the range of 375 to 830 nm and an optical output power up to 150 mW at each wavelength. The light sources are diode lasers and diode-pumped solid-state lasers whose beams are efficiently combined and coupled into one or two single-mode fibers. Features include automatic aging compensation, a 0.7-mm beam diameter option, customer-configurable input signaling and an industry-standard footprint. Operated through the integrated USB 2.0 interface and the Windows-compatible laser control software, the light engines are a plug-and-play solution for use in confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, reprographics, test and measurement, and machine vision.
