DPSS Lasers Inc.’s Titan UV series pulsed 355-nm solid-state laser systems are available from AMS Technologies AG. With up to 5 W of average power, they are typically used in applications including solar cell processing, sapphire scribing, UV marking, indium tin oxide removal and micromachining. Enabling fast marking and materials processing, the lasers feature TEM00 beam quality of M2 <1.3 for high resolution as well as stability of 5% over 8 h for repeatable processing results. Pulse energies of up to 150 μJ make the lasers suitable for both industrial 24/7 “workhorse” operation and for delicate scientific experiments. Extensive lifetime and trouble-free operation are supported by a rigid sealed structure. For remote control and monitoring, they have a full RS-232 interface. Built upon intracavity conversion technology, Q-switched and with field-programmable repetition rates from single-shot to 300 kHz, the lasers also are suitable for thick-/thin-film trimming, direct write/repair, microvia hole drilling, biological threat detection, polyamide cutting and drilling, and photobleaching.
