Accu-Scope Inc. has announced the second-generation 319CU, a 3.2-megapixel-resolution digital microscopy camera that builds upon the architecture of its predecessor by offering faster frame rates than previously possible on USB 2.0 microscopy cameras. Designed for use in bright-field microscopy applications, it delivers 12 fps at full 2048 x 1536-pixel resolution without any compromise in image quality because the noise level has been reduced by 90% with the introduction of a new heat dissipation and circuit design. It offers 10-bit digitization and processing, 8-bit RGB uncompressed output and a 48-MHz master clock. It is enclosed in die cast aluminum and has a stainless steel C-mount microscope interface.
