Oriel, a Newport Corp. Brand, has introduced scientific cameras, the InstaSpec ISX CCD and the InstaSpec ISX IR. They are available with new InstaSpec Pro software which provides complete system control of single- and dual-camera configurations and all the functions of any Oriel spectrograph.
The output from one or two cameras can be joined via the proprietary “stitch and glue” function to provide a single graphic display output of the acquired spectrum. This capability, along with comprehensive data management and manipulation functions, provides ease of use. The data format enables easy export to other packages for additional or enhanced postprocessing tasks. The intuitive software features autocalibration for the spectrograph and the installed cameras, plus extensive integrated pop-up help to facilitate setup.
The InstaSpec ISX CCD camera features a back-illuminated CCD sensor with a 1024 × 122-pixel array and a pixel size of 24 × 24 µm. It is designed for operation in the 200- to 1100-nm spectral range, making it suitable for spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, emission, reflectance and multistripe absorbance applications.
The InstaSpec ISX IR scientific camera is designed with an InGaAs linear array with 1 × 256 pixels with a 50-µm pitch. It operates in the 800- to 1700-nm spectral range. The high-performance line scan detector is suited for scanning applications in the infrared, such as spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy.
Both cameras produce high resolution and offer a high dynamic range. They are thermoelectrically air-cooled and feature dual gain control settings and integrated digital signal processing. Both use standard USB 2.0 high-speed interfaces, eliminating the need for custom interface cards.
