CHELMSFORD, England, Dec. 1, 2010 — The FlexPoint MV Focus focusable line lasers in robust housings for industrial applications, released by Laser Components UK Ltd., have a homogeneous power distribution that can be precisely focused without the use of any tools. A counter screw prevents accidental readjustment, and the line position remains unchanged.

Features include a linewidth of 40 µm at a distance of 50 mm, or 550 µm at 1 m. Power is supplied via an industrial standard four-pin M12 connection, and operating voltage is from 4.5 to 30 VDC. Using an internal power control, the brightness of the module remains unchanged within this voltage range.

The lasers are protected against reverse polarity, and the housing is potential-free. Other electronic components mounted on the same board thus remain unaffected.

The fan angle (typically 5° to 90°), wavelength (635 to 905 nm) and output power (5 µW to 100 mW) can be adjusted in a wide range to meet customer needs. To modulate and increase independence of ambient light or to dim the output power, the lasers can be equipped with a control wire. A comprehensive range of accessories is also available.
