IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 22, 2010 — Laser and photonic solutions provider Newport Corp. announced the introduction of Nstruct, an enhanced instrument management software platform.

The software was created to simplify installation and to provide quicker instrument and experiment setup and use. It is flexible and scalable, and its advanced communication layer provides a stable operating environment, even when a multitude of Windows 7 or XP instruments are used.

The software's features permit single-point control of all instrument parameters, enabling remote operation with a LAN network.

It is compatible with National Instruments’ LabView, Microsoft C#.net and Python. In addition, Newport has released Applets, a suite of instrument- and experiment-oriented software utilities that can be downloaded from the company’s site along with the Nstruct platform.
