The model BBS 1150 is a high-accuracy bench-type blackbody calibration source manufactured by Process Sensors Corp. that features high effective emissivity of 0.995, a large 51-mm emitter diameter aperture and a uniformly heated spherical cavity.
The mid- to high-temperature source operates over a wide temperature range from 200 to 1150 °C and is controlled by a digital self-tuning proportional integral derivative controller that provides user-selectable push buttons, allowing for quick and simple adjustment of the desired set point temperature.
It attains the set point temperature and stabilizes to produce a temperature reading to within 0.5 °C, assuring high-accuracy calibration of noncontact infrared thermometers, thermal imaging camera systems, single-element and focal plane array detectors, spectrophotometers, heat flux meters and laser systems.
Specifications include accuracy of ±0.25% of reading ±1 °C, temperature resolution of 1°, stability of 0.5 °C per 8-h period, warm-up time of 1 h from room temperature to 1000 °C and fan cooling via an air inlet on the rear panel. It runs on a 208-VAC ±10% 50/60-Hz supply, measures 483 × 635 × 533 mm and weighs 80 kg.
