Hexagon Metrology Inc. has introduced a new line of Romer Absolute Arms. Besides the previously released six-axis arm for tactile and tube inspection, it includes two seven-axis models. The new touch and laser-scanning measuring arm versions include one with an integrated laser scanner and one with the ability to attach an external laser scanner. They are available in six sizes, from a measuring range of 2 to 4.5 m. The portable arm coordinate measuring machines are flexible tools for quality control. The 3-D measuring arms are used for dimensional verification, alignment for assembly, computer-aided design comparison inspection, 3-D scanning, reverse engineering, product development, rapid prototyping and tube geometry inspection. The Romer metrology devices are used for fast on-site inspection.
