low-hardness silicone “soft pads,” developed as a countermeasure against
heat emanation generated by electronic devices. The silicones have both high thermal
conductivity and electrical insulation properties and are suitable for thinner,
lighter-weight applications such as notebook PCs, LED lighting, and hybrid and electric
cars. The pads’ materials permit better line-to-line contact between the heat
sink and the heat-generating component, enabling more heat transfer and longer-life
parts.
