TAIPEI, Taiwan, Jan. 27, 2011 — GlacialLight, a subdivision of GlacialTech Inc., has launched the Lyra Series LED products with the GL-A19 LED bulbs. Replacements for traditional A19 incandescent bulbs, they fit into standard E26/E27/B22/GU10 sockets. With a two-year warranty and a rated life span of ≥30,000 h, the bulbs are designed to provide decorative, window, spot, cabinet, accent and hallway lighting in commercial and private settings.

For indoor use, the GL-A19 LED bulbs operate from a 100- to 240 ±10%-VAC power source, use <9 W of power and emit >400 lm warm white or cool white light. Properly surrounded by heat sink fins to cool down, the energy-efficient bulbs produce lower levels of heat generation, as compared with incandescent bulbs, and benefit users with power and money savings due to lowering air-conditioning bills.

The bulbs contain no hazardous chemicals, such as mercury, and emit no harmful UV or IR rays, making them more eco-friendly than traditional incandescent lighting fixtures. Power conversion efficiency is >83%.

Luminous flux is 640 lm for the cool white model and 500 lm for the warm white. Luminous efficacy is 71l and 56 lm/W for the cool and warm white, respectively, and operating temperature range for both is from -20 to 40 °C. Color correlated temperature is 3000 K for the warm and 6000 K for the cool white, and color rendering index is >80 and >70, respectively.

Beam angle is 120º. Power factor is >0.8 at 120 VAC and >0.75 at 240 VAC. The RoHS-compliant devices are based on three core technologies, including electrical design (LED drivers), mechanical design (cooling devices) and optical design (lamp holders), provided by GlacialPower, GlacialTech and GlacialLight, respectively, in the GlacialTech family.

The LEDs are suitable for use in flashlights, torches and spotlights, they require no warm-up time in cold environments, and they have a small carbon footprint.
