MAINZ, Germany, Feb. 22, 2011 — Dilas Industrial Laser Systems has released an integrated diode laser system based on fiber-coupled modules.

Measuring 336 × 144 mm, this high-power diode laser system delivers optical output powers of up to 50 W continuous-wave at 980 nm out of a 400-μm fiber and up to 35 W, continuous-wave, out of a 200-μm fiber. Cooling is provided by Peltier elements and air flow. The system can be controlled via either a USB port using the supplied software or by conventional analog and 24-V signals.

The MINI is available as an easily integratable OEM version without housing or as a housed desktop version. A 5-m-long fiber optic cable and an SMA connector deliver flexible beam guidance to the working area.

Available accessories like processing heads of different focal spot sizes and working distances can be used with the system. The integrated red pilot beam facilitates adjustment of the laser to the work piece.

The system is used for a variety of applications in direct materials processing such as selective soldering and welding of plastics as well as for applications in illumination, analysis, and research and development. For such applications, different wavelengths from 630 to 2000 nm are available upon request.
