LIV100 Measurement System

EMDEN, Germany, May 17, 2011 — LIV100, manufactured by Artifex Engineering eK, is a measurement system for the characterization and analysis of high-power laser diodes, whether packaged or in bare chip form. It performs a complete light-current-voltage (LIV) measurement in a short time at currents of up to 400 A (lower current versions are available).

With the ongoing drop in price per watt for high-power laser diodes, the system is finding more applications in materials processing and laser pumping.

The LIV100 features integrated spectral measurement, high throughput of ~0.3 s per diode, and stand-alone and OEM software packages.

The compact system is designed for OEM integration into production cells. The autonomous measurement routine frees the master control PC during the characterization process.

The included graphical software package allows for quick setup and serves as a full benchtop testing system.

Applications include laser diode characterization before packaging, and inspection of incoming goods.
