iCOLOROmron Electronics Inc. has introduced a color machine vision system that can use several color detection methods. The F400 does not require programming, and all system setup and use is controlled by a handheld keypad. The system has a viewing area of 512 x 484 pixels, measures 48 x 31 x 40 mm and can inspect up to eight colors simultaneously. Users choose a color detection method based on the color, lighting and fixturing of the application for optimal inspection. Methods include hue/saturation/intensity, which is modeled on human vision; color gray; red, green, blue and gray. The system can detect correct color, surface defects and pattern matching of objects of different colors, making it suitable for pharmaceutical, automotive and electronics industry applications.
