Laser Research Optics, a division of Meller Optics Inc., has introduced OEM-quality field replacement CO2 optics for the low-power lasers used in cutting and engraving plastics. The company’s CO2 laser lenses and mirrors are optimized for use at 10.6 µm and meet OEM and ISO-10110 specifications for optical elements. Available for Cincinnati, Coherent, Epilog, Synrad, Universal and similar lasers, these optics are comparable to the originals, according to the company. The laser lenses are offered in outer diameter sizes of 1/2 to 1 in. with 1- to 12-in. focal lengths, and they are antireflection-coated with dual-band coatings available to aid in system alignment. The mirrors are 1/2 to 10 in. thick and made from silicon, copper and molybdenum for extra dirty environments.
