Optris GmbH has introduced the optris PI200 thermal imaging camera series with bi-spectral technology, which integrates two technologies into one stationary device. It combines the conventional thermal image with a visual one, with both images displayed in real time and recorded for eventual analysis. This integration is a significant step in the development of imaging temperature measurement systems. The cameras can be used in areas where previously CCD and thermal imaging cameras were used separately. Examples include installation in storage pits and open spaces for early fire detection, on conveyer belts for temperature control of bulk material, or within production processes for visual and thermal documentation. The cameras display up to 96 images per second with 160 x 120-pixel resolution.
