Hamamatsu Corp. has introduced the C11697MA, a miniature spectrometer for LED testing. With its fast measurement time, it is suitable for use on production lines. Readout time is ~2 ms, and integration time can be as short as 4 µs. The faster readout and integration times decrease LED testing time so that inspection throughput can increase. The trigger function enables measurement of pulsed light emission. Seven trigger operation modes are available, and they can be selected using the free evaluation software bundled with the instrument. Measuring 94 x 90 x 55 mm, the spectrometer comprises optical elements, a CMOS image sensor and a driver circuit. The sensor offers an amplifier array, 1024 pixels and 320- to 1000-nm sensitivity.
