IR Pyrometers
Process Sensors Corp., IR Temperature Div.Request Info
Process Sensors Corp. has added the improved high-accuracy, low-temperature Metis Model MB35 sensor series to its line of precision noncontact infrared pyrometers. With an operating temperature range starting at 35 °C, the pyrometers use a lead selenide detector with filtered spectral response from 2 to 5 µm. Applications include CO2 laser heating, composites and metal surfaces above 35 °C. The emissivity of metallic surfaces decreases with shorter wavelengths, so the devices offer better performance than those with a longer-wavelength response, according to the company. Other advantages are smaller spot sizes, fast response times and digital signal processing that provides for wide temperature ranges. The versatile pyrometers offer two solutions for aiming: see-through optics and laser. There is also a fixed-focus version for extremely small spot sizes.
