These modules use Selfoc or ball lens technology for data communications signal transmission and reception. The assemblies, which can be mass-produced, include antireflective coating and VCSEL technology. The company says the modules have high coupling efficiency and design flexibility. These devices are suitable for fiber channel, SONET, Gigabit Ethernet and asynchronous transfer mode applications.
