Rack-Mount High-Voltage Power Systems

UltraVolt Inc.’s new high-voltage power systems, the HV Rack Advanced and the HP Advanced series, offer more advanced controls and interfaces and produce power of up to 90 kW. The HV Rack series is known for its reliability and easy-to-use front-panel controls and meters.

The HV Rack Advanced and HP Advanced lines use state-of-the-art technology, including computerized front panels, full controls and displays, a multitude of digital and analog interfaces, and an SD card memory function for loading preset user voltage/current curves. Both series offers advanced measurement and data logging in addition to standard modes for constant voltage and constant current.

Both provide source simulation modes such as constant resistive, constant power, photovoltaic and automotive. Custom modes are offered to meet customer needs. The systems offer good line and load regulation, low ripple and low noise. They are suitable for use by design engineers in the automotive, industrial, aerospace, railway, energy, medical, academia and R&D industries. They can be used in high-voltage, high-current or high-power applications such as automatic test and evaluation in fields including laboratory and production subsystem testing for hybrid cars, aircraft, trains and shipboard.

Other end-use applications include motor operation, galvanic processes, plating, remediation, process-water treatment and wastewater treatment. Photonic applications include simulation of solar panels by testing inverters and capacitor chargers in the laser industry.

HV Rack Advanced systems offer output voltages from 0 to 1200 VDC, currents from 0 to 500 A, and an output power range of 0 to 10 kW. The HP Advanced line offers 0 to 1200 VDC, currents from 0 to 2250 A, and an output power range of 0 to 60 kW. Customers who require higher power can specify the master-slave option for the high-power system, which enables the HV Rack HP Advanced Series to reach the 90-kW level.
