Opto Power Corp. has introduced the first module in its Typhoon series of multibar diode laser modules for continuous-wave operation. The module has a stack of 12 diode laser arrays with a 1.5-mm bar-to-bar spacing and can be supplied at output wavelengths from 790 to 950 nm. Water cooling enables delivery of 240 W of CW output and 800 W of peak power of quasi-CW output. The Typhoon series is designed for optical pumping of high-power solid-state lasers.
