ROCHESTER, N.Y., March 28, 2012 — Navitar Inc. has introduced a dual-view imaging system that allows customers to simultaneously view a single subject and capture an image at multiple fields of view.

In just one setup, a single objective lens is presented to two separate imaging channels that can be fixed, zoom or a combination of both. Two separate light sources and wavelengths can be used, enabling inspection of multiple types of materials. The use of various adapter tubes on each optical path provides a wider field of view than a traditional single-view system does, without the need for changing workstations or lighting setups.

The system has a minimum optical magnification range of 0.09× to 6.13×, which corresponds to fields of view as large as a 120-mm diagonal on a ?-in.-format sensor down to a 0.65-mm diagonal on a ¼-in. sensor. Maximum optical magnification ranges from 20× to 583× using a 50× objective.

The system consists of a combination of a fixed 1× tube lens, precise eye lens, zoom 6000 or 12× zoom lens; a dual-view fold block; LED and adjustable LED light sources; and adapter tubes.

The mechanical dual-view system lets users capture an image and present it to two different sensors, providing a variety of options when viewing samples.

Applications include camera sensor inspection, laser beam monitoring and thin- film transistor repair.
