SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 16, 2012 — Spectra-Physics, a Newport Corp. brand, has unveiled a green continuous-wave diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) laser.

The Millennia Core delivers 25 W of 532-nm power, with good beam quality and low noise. Applications include ultrafast laser pumping, laser doping of solar cells and materials processing.

The laser offers single-mode TEM00 beam quality with M2 <1.1. It is based on proprietary “It’s in the Box” design, where the laser optical cavity, laser diode, power supply and control electronics are all integrated into a single compact package, eliminating the need for an external power supply. With the combination of a rugged industrial design, long-life laser diodes, and ultrastable EternAlign optical-mount technology, the laser is reliable and easy to use.
