SUR500 Avalanche Photodiode

HUDSON, N.H., Sept. 5, 2012 — The SUR500 silicon avalanche photodiode manufactured by Laser Components USA Inc. is designed for biomedical applications in which small signals in the short-wave UV/blue spectral range must be detected.

With its high sensitivity and low noise, it is suited for measurements in photometry, fluorescence and in analytical systems.

It also can be used for measurements in the wavelength range between 255 and 1000 nm.

At 400 nm, the detector has sensitivity of ~28 A/W.

The device is available with an active diameter of 500 µm. The TO housings, optimized for the UV range, are compact and hermetically sealed.
