Aerotech Inc.’s CADFusion software enables users to import vector-based drawing files and produce G-code motion programs. Automatic and manual shape reordering options offer optimal tool and processing paths. The software allows user-defined initialization, process shutdown and shuttering commands (laser on/off) and offers seamless use of the company’s controller features, such as position synchronized output.

CADFusion bridges the gap between part drawings and motion control. Users import a vector-based DXF drawing and see the resulting tool path graphically on the software’s canvas. Part optimization is easy and intuitive with shape reordering, feature scaling and rotational/translational features. Overall process management, including local and global feed-rate control and lead in/out moves, can be automatically configured in advance so that every import file produces a consistent motion control program.

Upon import, the software automatically parses the incoming pattern into well-defined shapes and entities that can be manipulated by the user to adjust size, rotation and position on the canvas. Import settings are simple to configure and allow flexibility to automate features that users can establish as standard for every imported drawing. Upon drawing export, the software compiles a full motion control program, automatically inserting user-defined initialization and process trigger events.

Program automation is enhanced by its ability to insert user-defined code at the beginning and end of any autogenerated motion program, and laser/process definitions and firing events can be specifically tailored by the user and called automatically by CADFusion during program compilation.
