638-nm Fiber-Coupled Tailored Bar

MAINZ, Germany, March 13, 2013 — Dilas has extended its fiber-coupled tailored laser bar modules to produce 40-W output power at 638 nm from a 400-µm, 0.22-numerical-aperture fiber. Its brightness, efficiency and reliability are suitable for cinematic projection.

The T-Bar architecture delivers high beam quality and high power using standard micro-optic fast- and slow-axis collimators, all assembled with automated processes. It is a monolithic source that can handle multiple emitters during each manufacturing step, enhancing reproducibility, beam quality and fiber-coupling efficiency.

Extending the technology’s scalable concept will enable the development of high-power diode laser-based RGB projection laser systems.
