Gentec Electro-Optics Inc. has launched the Beamage 3.0, a CMOS-based laser beam profiling camera with redesigned software featuring an intuitive user interface and powerful data analysis tools.

The USB 3.0 interface provides a data transfer rate up to 10× faster than any USB 2.0 system, allowing for rates up to 10 fps at 1 megapixel. It also offers an improved communication architecture that reduces both data transmission latency and power consumption.

The combination of high pixel density (2.2 megapixels) and large sensor size (11.3 × 6.0 mm) enables the system to accurately characterize beams ranging from a few tens of microns to several millimeters in width.

The software offers functions such as background subtraction, an animation tool, signal normalization, filtering and averaging functions, external triggering, active area definition and Gaussian fit. Its calculations are compliant with ISO 11146:2004, 11146:2005 and 13694-2000.
