QExtra Technology Antireflection Coating

EDISON, N.J., April 30, 2013 — Horiba Scientific’s QExtra Technology is an antireflection multilayer coating designed to improve quantum efficiency of back-illuminated CCDs over a broad spectral range while suppressing etaloning effects in the near-IR region above 750 nm in back-thinned silicon scientific cameras.

The coating provides low-light-detection capabilities from 300 to 1000 nm with quantum efficiency higher than 90%, an advantage for spectroscopy experiments where the UV and NIR regions are important.

The increase in sensitivity combined with the company’s scientific cameras makes the back-illuminated CCDs suitable for low-light luminescence, fluorescence and Raman spectroscopy measurements.

QExtra Technology is available with Horiba Scientific’s Symphony II CCD and Synapse CCD cameras.
