STAMFORD, Conn., June 18, 2013 — Omega Engineering Inc.’s PR-25CU RTD sensor incorporates a copper tip for improved heat transfer between the sensing element and the process conditions, enabling reduced response times and better temperature tracking. This is especially important for applications where the sensor has little exposure to the item being measured, such as in thermowells and bearing temperatures.

An M12 connector secures all types of applications. The probe is available straight or with mounting threads of ½, 3/8 or ¼ NPT, or in a metric millimeter size with M8x1 and M10x1 mounting threads. It is suitable for bearing temperatures on manufacturing equipment, for automotive and manufacturing plants, for R&D and for test and measurement.

Housed in a 316L stainless steel sheath, the sensor operates from –50 to 250 ºC and the connector, from –50 to 85 °C. Typical response time is 6 s for 63.2%, 5 s for 50% and 11 s for 90% (water at 0.91 m/s).
