Senso Optics’ thermal vision sensor (TVS), incorporated within the Enhanced Vision System (EVS), offers pilots an infrared view of surroundings, penetrating darkness and weather conditions, enabling safe taxiing, takeoff and landing of aircraft.
A thermal camera, the TVS is sensitive to the long-wave infrared (LWIR) spectrum and is based on an uncooled-microbolometer, 17-µm-pixel-pitch, VGA (640 × 480) high-sensitivity detector.
The compact device features a temperature range of –40 to 70 ºC, an 8- to 12.5-µm spectral range, a 13-m-to-infinity focus range and low power consumption.
