BERLIN, Aug. 23, 2013 — Applied Physics and Electronics Inc.’s waveScan USB spectrometer has a standard spectral resolution of 0.2 nm for spectral analysis of laser systems and applications requiring a wide spectral range.

The device has a fast data refresh rate, making it a suitable alignment tool for optical systems in the visible and IR wavelength range. Operating over a wavelength range of 200 to 2600 nm, the spectrometer has a resolution of 0.1 or 0.5 nm at certain wavelengths.

The USB is suitable for high-resolution measurements at wavelengths above 1100 nm, beyond the range of silicon CCD-based spectrometers. Control software is provided, displaying and storing the measured spectra on a standard PC, giving access to all measuring and calibration features. An optional fiber input is also available.
