QS-7 OPD Optical Scanner

Nutfield Technology has introduced the QS-7 OPD galvanometer-based optical scanner for a variety of applications, including marking, imaging, microscopy and micromachining.

The compact device, available in one-, two- and three-axis configurations, features a mechanical design with ceramic ball-bearing motors and high-strength, moving-magnet galvanometers. The company says that, when combined with low-resistance, low-inductance coils, the scanner provides a 40 percent increase in speed with optimized thermal characteristics. A position detector generates four times the output signal for high signal-to-noise ratio. Patent-pending selectable stops are available.
