SAVANNAH, Ga., Oct. 1, 2013 — Aspect Imaging has launched the M-series, a family of compact MRI systems that enable preclinical imaging applications. The M10 is for imaging of larger species and the M3, for imaging of mice for phenotypic research. Both complement the 3-D magnetic-resonance based histology system for toxicology research as well as the current M2 platform. The platforms do not require a shielded room, cryogens, specialty plumbing or high-capacity electrical power, instead offering a self-shielded, permanent magnet that can be placed in most settings. They provide the researcher or manager of the core-imaging facility the power of MRI but without the complexity and maintenance of superconducting and cryogen-free MRI installations.
