MANNHEIM, Germany, Nov. 6, 2013 — Leica Microsystems has released the TCS SP8 STED 3X superresolution stimulated emission depletion (STED) microscopy platform for life sciences research applications.

The system achieves resolution below the diffraction limit in lateral and axial directions. It is adjustable for best lateral and vertical resolutions, and for smallest confocal volume, and offers multiple depletion laser choices. Resolution of structures below 50 nm without data processing is possible.
