SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan. 27, 2014 — The E8486A waveguide power sensor from Agilent Technologies Inc. makes power measurements in the E-band spectrum from 60 to 90 GHz, making it suitable for E-band telecommunications applications.

The device features an 80-dB dynamic-range option, allowing it to measure from –60 to 20 dBm. This ensures accuracy when measuring low-level signals, enabling power measurement at the receiver side of point-to-point transceiver modules in addition to the module’s output power.

The sensor incorporates a 50-MHz calibration port and offers a standing wave ratio of 1.06, minimizing measurement uncertainty caused by sensor and source mismatch.
