BOHEMIA, N.Y., May, 27, 2014 — Combining its proficiency in intracavity harmonic generation with end-pumping diodes, Photonics Industries has introduced the DSH-355 series multifunctional diode-pumped solid-state nanosecond UV lasers. More efficient than external cavity harmonic generation, intracavity harmonic generation provides better pulse-to-pulse stability and superior average power stability while staying relatively insensitive to ambient temperature changes. The DSH series houses a nonconsumable third-harmonic-generation crystal, rendering complicated crystal indexing schemes unnecessary. Smaller beam distortions and better mode quality results lead to increased depth of focus for deep drilling. Applications include flexible printed circuit board cutting, UV marking applications and indium tin oxide patterning, among others.
