LARNE, Northern Ireland, Aug. 13, 2014 — The Owl 640 M42 from Raptor Photonics Ltd. is a digital camera that captures visible and shortwave infrared light.

Using a 640 × 512 InGaAs sensor, the Owl offers visible extension from 0.4 to 1.7 µm to enable high-sensitivity imaging, and will run from 10 to 120 Hz using less than 5 W.

Applications include 860, 1064 and 1550 nm laser line detection, active imaging, imaging through fog, range finding, semiconductor and solar cell inspection, telecommunications and thermography.
