The LSH-7320 from Oriel Instruments, a Newport company, is an LED Class ABA solar simulator. Compared with solar simulators with xenon sources, the LED-based solar simulator provides fast turn-on time, longer lifetime and reduced waste heat for integration into glove boxes. Designed for the photovoltaic research market, the LSH-7320 provides a variable output from 0.1 to 1.1 suns over a 2 × 2-in. illumination area at a working distance of 12 in. It is rated Class A for spectral match, using 10 LEDs with wavelengths ranging from 400 to 1100 nm; Class B for uniformity; and Class A for temporal stability. It is certified to IEC, JIS and ASTM standards.
