PHOENIX — Designed for industrial and other imaging applications, two new CMOS sensors from ON Semiconductor offer CCD-like optical performance.

The 2.3-megapixel Python 2000 and the 5.3-megapixel Python 5000 are available in monochrome, color and extended near-infrared variants.

In-pixel correlated double sampling (ipCDS) technology enables global shutter imaging. Fast-moving scenes can be imaged without distortion by combining a read noise of 9 e- with 7.7 V/lux sensitivity and frame rates as high as 850 fps at VGA resolution.

Applications include machine vision, inspection and motion monitoring, as well as security, surveillance and intelligent transportation systems.
