OLCHING, Germany, Feb. 16, 2015 — Laser Components Ultra Tec MinipolLaser Components offers two new optical fiber polishers from Ultra Tec for small series, prototypes and retropolishing.

The Minipol polisher (pictured) is small, lightweight and can run on a battery for use in the field.

The Nanopol polisher makes it possible to polish fibers, including large-diameter fibers, at almost any angle. For this purpose, they are equipped with an adjustable arm mount and an additional height control.

Standard connector types in telecommunications, such as SC, LC, FC, E2000 and ST, can be equipped with a PC or APC polish; an SMA connector can be ground flat. Other features include the polishing of bare fibers and the post-processing of optical fibers and optical fiber surfaces that have been used and slightly damaged.
