iSTANDThe In-Sight 2000 industrial machine vision sensor requires no programming and no PC. It uses a spreadsheet interface for configuring vision applications. Cognex Corp. designed the system with a handheld control pad for navigation, a processor with an onboard DSP chip for vision processing, a library of vision software tools, and a standard VGA output for optional live video display. The Cognex digital camera can acquire 640 x 480-pixel images at a rate of 30 fps and features a progressive-scan CCD for freeze-frame imaging. Typical applications for the In-Sight 2000 include measuring part dimensions, detecting the presence or absence of parts, verification of parts assembly and positioning, and locating parts for machine guidance.
