GRAEFELFING, Germany — Opto CylinderInspector 3DThe CylinderInspector 3D from Opto GmbH uses a white-light interferometric technique to provide nanoscale surface analysis of cylinders used in automotive engines.

The instrument is also able to provide perfect “classical” optical inspection of honed surfaces in cast iron and aluminum, as well as detailed image analysis of different surface textures.

Combining optics, illumination, camera, sensors and an automated positioning axis in one compact inverted optical engine, the device is ready for plug-and-play machine integration.
