MARTINSRIED, Germany, April 29, 2015 — Menlo Systems Tera K15Suited for scientific materials testing and quality-control applications, a new fiber-coupled terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) system from Menlo Systems GmbH offers improved data acquisition and signal sampling.

The new edition of the Tera K15 operates without a lock-in amplifier and performs fast measurements with the highest bandwidth and signal levels. The new optomechanical delay unit enables single measurements at up to 25 Hz with a freely selectable scanning window. A high-resolution THz spectrum is recorded in 20 s or less.

The entire scan range of >850 ps offers a high degree of flexibility for the configuration of the THz path. The THz path can be extended by further components while maintaining the advantages of the fiber-coupled THz module.

The latest antenna technology with high output power provides >4-THz spectral bandwidth and up to 80-dB dynamic range. Thicker and stronger absorptive samples can be inspected, opening up new possibilities, particularly for reflective THz imaging.
