Reynard Corp. has announced high-performance metalized windows to eliminate contamination and provide an environmental barrier for optics applications.
A thin-film coating method is used to deposit a predetermined pattern of metal onto the surface of the optic. The pattern is combined with a thin-film filter or antireflection coating and can be configured for various requirements. The metallization process is compatible with systems that use a getter process to create vacuum seals.
Applications include use in cryogenic storage dewars, hermetically sealed detectors, medical endoscopes, heated windows and other special configurations.
