RICHMOND, British Columbia, Canada —
Point Grey Research Inc. has announced 3.2- and 5-MP CMOS models for its Grasshopper3 USB3 Vision camera line.
The latest models feature Sony's second-generation Pregius global-shutter CMOS sensors, the IMX250 and IMX252, which feature lower temporal dark noise. The smaller 3.45-μm pixel size allows more pixels to be packed into a smaller optical format.
The Grasshopper3 GS3-U3-32S4M-C model is based on the monochrome version of the 1/1.8-in. IMX252, featuring 2048 × 1536 image resolution and a frame rate of 121 fps. The Grasshopper3 GS3-U3-51S5M-C model is based on the monochrome version of the 2/3-in. IMX250, featuring 2448 × 2048 resolution at 75 fps.
