IRVINE, Calif. — The IK-HD5UM video camera from Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. is rated for medical use, meeting the IEC 60601-1 medical design standards requirements for medical and surgical imaging applications.

The 3-CMOS high-definition video camera features a 1920 × 1080-pixel format with both DVI-D and USB3 outputs. Three-chip prism block technology provides unmatched performance, high sensitivity and color reproduction in real-time high-definition video. It also includes a C-mount lens mount, remote control, switchable formats between 1080p and 1080i, up to 1,000 TV lines resolution, 5 user-configurable scene files and a binning mode for a 4× increase in sensitivity.

The IK-HD5UM is adapted for use in in surgical microscopy, surgical light camera integration, or surgical room monitoring and surveillance, and other nonpatient contact and nondiagnostic imaging applications.
