Electronic Materials Inc. has introduced the Emcast 700 series of single-component, UV- and/or heat-curable epoxies designed as adhesives, sealants and encapsulants. The dual-cure epoxies enable users to set or fixture the material with UV exposure and subsequently apply heat to cure obscured or shadowed areas. They contain no monomer or solvents, are odorless and display low shrinkage and outgassing. Curing can be performed with UV exposure for 5 to 10 s or thermal cycles of 10 to 20 min at 115 °C. The company offers a choice of viscosity, Tg, hardness and thermal conductivity.
